Happy Monday

I know this is a weed...but I just loved them when I was a kid
blowing them into the air.....

My airplane plant and jew are perking up

this is my little bird bath...needs to be cleaned out
the birds make such a mess...

Honey suckle...another favorite when I was a kid....

My mums from the fall are starting to bloom again
I cut them back this winter and here they are again...
Happy Monday!!!

the dandelion........they are everywhere, fun to blow though. Our birdbaths need some attention too.

I remember blowing dandelions too as a kid. Now I cringe at the thought especially when I see lawns that are almost entirely covered by the weed. I"ve planted mums and had them come back only one time in all the years I've planted them. What's your trick? The only thing I can think of is that the ones that came back were planted near the foundation of the house and the others were not. Maybe the soil is warmer near the house? Is there a special kind of mum you planted? Have a great day Deb! Hugs, Loretta

Loretta,
They are just generic mums, I have found if I trim back the dead portions the come back, I also let the leaves stay in my flowerbeds during the winter, I think that might help protect them, I have one plant in a pot that has been coming back every year for about 5 years now.

I think the scent of honeysuckle will be one of the smells of heaven!

With spring, comes a long list of chores. But wouldn't you just love to lay on the grass and blow dandelions.

We need to find someone that doesn't care about weeds but oh well.

Hi Deb,
First off I just love the picture of your iris in your header, next I love your songs, would it be okay if i put a few of them on my playlist. It seems we have the same taste in music too.

Your post today brings back wonderful memories of my childhood blowing the wild dandelion flower, and of being outside and smelling the sweet honey suckle.
This has been such a pleasant visit for me. Thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Sue

I remember blowing those when I was a kid. My dad would go crazy since I was just spreading more weeds on the lawn, so I would just go to the side of the house and do it!! ;) Your plants are beautiful. It is so fun to watch them wake up!! :)

It's always uplifting to see the plants come to life in spring. I loved honeysuckle as a kid. We'd suck the nectar out of the flowers.
