I think this is how most Texans felt last week...

with the heat....

thought I would share a few more of my...

I didn't take a lot of photos this week....

mainly ones of Hotrod..

that I don't share....

I have a new song stuck in my head...

thanks to Hotrod...

it also has A Captain Crunch commercial...

he loves it...

it was a nice end too a hectic week...

nothing brings you back to normalcy....

like a sweet little one...

he balances my world....

we went to the sprinkle park....and the regular park...

his Mommy got to come to...it was fun...

we had a cool front today...

I think it was only 100...

you may laugh but it is amazing...

how 5 or 6 degrees make a difference...

looking forward to a nice weekend...

we are having some of my hubbies childhood friends...

and their spouses over...

for the guys to catch up on old times...

I'm sure I will hear some new stories I haven't heard before...

and find out the real story on a few I've heard several times...

I also get to have a photo shoot with Hotrod...

I know I have a lot of photo shoots with him...

but this is a tradition....our second year to do it...

I'm looking forward to it...he has grown up so much in a year....

I think I need to put a book on his head to slow him down....

this has been quite a week...

with wild fires....hurricanes...

decisions hanging with the supreme court...

thought a flag flying might be a good reminder....

we are the United States of America...

stand strong....don't let people drag us down...

let your voices be heard....

okay I'm off my soap box...

the high heat continues....

cool front (99 degrees) headed our way....

it has been a hard week personally too...

but things are looking up....

I'm feeling better about it...

having a positive attitude....

worrying doesn't help...being positive does...

one day at a time...

Tomatoe.....Tamatoe....

last year we only got a handful of tomatoes...

this year...we have an abundance...

we are sharing with our loved ones...

it feels good to share our bounties...

with the prices of groceries rising....

gardening may become more of a necessity...

than just a pleasure...

there seems to be more and more things...

that I just refuse to buy any more....

the prices are so outrageous...

I seem to be sticking to the basics...

fresh fruit and veggies....frozen veggies...

meats that can be stretched...

dried beans...

I guess it is a much healthier way to eat...

have you noticed your giving up on some things...

because of the higher prices?

what do you refuse to give up?

what do you miss because you just won't pay the price?

Debbie is sure causing a lot of problems there...

update on our customers little boy...

he passed on Saturday...thank you for all the prayers...

the heat wave has hit...105 today...

then cool down to 100 tomorrow...

doesn't take long to dry clothes on the line...

just hope they don't burst into flames...

my veggies are slowing down a bit on production...

we are really blessed this year...

we've had lots and lots of tomatoes...

cucumbers...squash...zucchini...

the green beans are doing okay...

you need a lot more plants to get a mess...

now the okra is starting to produce...

still hoping for canteloupes...

my hubbies cut offs...

can you tell we are from the 70's...

Ooops and boo boo's

sometimes ooops or boo boo shots....

turn out to be pretty cool...

I almost deleted it then changed my mind...

I put it on Facebook...everyone loved it...

sometimes the not quite right photos...

turn out to be kinda cool...

even a little blurry can be interesting...

I'm not so quick to erase anymore...

99 percent of my photos are straight out of the camera...

I rarely make any changes...

occasionally I will crop or turn to black and white...

I know there are a lot of programs out there....

it is fun to play...but usually I like them just as they are...

It was a Mickey Mouse Birthday party....

my DIL did an awesome job...

the kids all had a blast...

so did the adults...

Hotrod had a big smile on his face the whole time...

we were so proud of him....

Hotrod got a kick out of dressing his Pawpaw up...

Pawpaw is always a good sport...

our daughter used to put press on earrings on him...

bows in his hair (before he started getting the buzz cut)

even painted his toe nails once...

silly man thought it would wash off in the shower...

he learned alot about girls from our daughter...

we started our 100 degree days today...

wonder if we will break the record again???

hey if it's gonna be hot...we might as well break a record...

I got sad news today...

one of our customers little boys is loosing his battle

with lukemia...hospice is there with them now....

they give him 2 or 3 days at the most...

please send your prayers to the family...

he is only 7 or 8....

a friend of the family had a baby boy this week...

he was 5lb 10oz 19 inches...

his parents are very tall...and they have such a little guy...

and she was late...

it's funny to me how tall girls have little babies...

and shorties like me end up with almost 10 lb. babies...

I know this post is rambling....

but it seems like my mind jumps around alot these days...

to many thoughts racing around....

it must be from chasing around a busy boy...

last night I decided to have a little photo shoot...

at Casa de Oma....

it has been a while since I've taken a walk in the yard...

with my camera on anything but the dogs or Hotrod....

the tomatoes are getting ripe faster than we can pick them....

the plants aren't looking so hot...put the tomatoes are delicious...

......oh how I love cucumbers...

I wish I would have planted more plants...

but you can only eat so many at a time...

I need to learn how to make pickles...

the catapillars have left the dill...

hope we see some pretty butterflies soon...

squash and zucchini...

hubby has been cooking it on the grill...

mmmmm...mmmmm....mmmm...

he fried some and some green tomatoes too....

I don't eat fried foods but they looked and smelled good...

cantelope....they are blooming...

but no sign of any cantelopes...

Hotrod and I love cantelopes....

we have a busy weekend ahead...

a party...two dance recital show...

hopefully the lake on Sunday to re-coup...

our temps are hitting the 100 degree mark...

next week over 100...

we are about a week behind from last year...

what is the song that says...

there ain't no cure for the summer time blues...

I saw a day at the lake will cure them...
