Today I had the pleasure to do a photo shoot...
with four beautiful ladies...
My Mom, Aunt Wanda, Aunt Dottie, and Aunt Rachel...
I started with the three sisters...
It was time for my Mom to turn over Nana's ring...
it is now Aunt Wanda's turn to have it for a year..
I see my Nana's hands here...
it made me feel warm and cozy inside...
the girls spent the day together...
doing lunch...visiting...and my photo shoot...
My Aunt Rachel was able to join her sisters in love...
she is married to my Uncle Gary...
you may remember her birthday post...
There was a nice breeze blowing through the gazebo..
they all look fresh as daiseys....
a little silliness is always fun in photos...
beautiful hands...
the babies they have held with them...
the meals they have prepared...
the sewing...quilting..painting...gardening...
the tears they have wiped away..
the touches of encouragement they have given...
the spat on someones backside when needed they have given...
the hugs...the wringing of their hands in times of worry...
the prayers to the lord...
beautiful...tender..hardworking hands...
something to be very proud of ...
I feel privileged to have these ladies in my life....
Thank you Mom...
Thank you Aunts....
I love you all....

God bless these women. :)
what a wonderful tradition to share the ring.
This made me cry! Such beautiful women and how fortunate to have quality women in your life! How blessed you are! My mama is the last of her siblings and it's sad to see them go one by one. Makes me know that my siblings and I are the new elders in the family! Oh, if we were only as wise as those who went before!
you usually make me laugh, today I have tears in my eyes. when I got to the hand photo passing the ring on for the next year, my eyes filled. that is a wonderful photo, even without the story. all my aunts have gone to heaven, Pat, Helen, Evidell, Ruby, Betty and my mother and her sister. you are blessed with beautiful aunts, thanks for sharing their story. the thing about getting old is all the family is gone and all we have is memories. the hand with red nails could be my aunt helens hands, very much like hers. she was my second mom.
You made me cry too!
You sure made some wonderful pictures of your sweet ladies. I know they are so proud of these.
I do love the hand shots, very good idea!
What a beautiful share & gorgeous photos, Deb. Love your memories presentation.
Have a great weekend ~

What a lovely group of ladies! How lucky you are, to have them in your family.
And what a lovely custom... Passing Nana's ring, among them, for a year at a time. Beautiful tradition.
You have a lovely group of ladies there, my Dear. And you did-'em-justice, by your photo shoot.
But......... You wouldn't sit still for one moment, and hand the camera over to one of them, to get a pretty pic of YOU?!? -pout- -big pout-
"Auntie" is getting very upset with you, my Dear. Never, never, never do you show us pics of yourself. Oh once in awhile, we get a random peek. But.............. -pout-

And.... They look like a "bunch" of "Summer Sherbet Cones", don't they?
Delightful...
