well it has been quite a week....
where do I begin???
Hotrod has completed his first year of MDO...
pre-school...just seems like yesterday when he started...
We have a new member to our "pack"...
Bo...as some of you might know...
he is our daughter's boyfriends dog...
so now he is another granddog...
he has come to stay with us a few times now...
Hotrod loves him...
he is very gentle...
Rooster tolerates him...
of course Rooster tolerates me too...
It has also been an emotional week...
A Icon in our town...
has shut their doors...
Big State drug also had a soda fountain...
a great place to get a burger...fries...Shake...
I liked their Chef salads...
because of the craziness of the insurance/health care business...
it has shut down another Mom and Pop operation...
which also effects the dinner part...
this is the camera man from Channel 11 news...
the news teams were there to interview local citizens...
well they came over to our table....
he came by later to give me his card...
to see if I could email him the photos I took of him...
well I did e-mail them...
he sent back a thank you right away...
my Mom was interviewed...
and actually used on the 6:00 news...
here we are my brother and his family...
my daughter...Mom and myself...
getting one last meal...
they had ran out of ice cream by 11:00...
out of salads...almost out of hamburger supplies at 12:00...
This is Bud Gillette...local news caster from Channel 11...
he has been on the news here for over 30 years...
my brother also got his autograph...
he hung out at our table for along time...
Here's Mom with him...
it was a sad day in our cities history...
saying good bye...
I'm so happy my niece and Hotrod...
were able to experience it...
several of my Fun Girl friends have met there for lunch...
later Thursday evening...
things went down hill...
my daughter picked up Hatari and Bo...
headed to take care of her friend (also her boy friend's sister)
dogs who are staying at their parents home...
the whole family went to Florida...
to celebrate the Grand fathers birthday...
she left Hatari and Bo sitting in the car...
while she was feeding the other 2 dogs...
then was going to let them all play...
she went out the back door to get the dogs feed bowls...
well the door locked behind her...
she had left her phone inside...
the gates were pad locked...she had no way out of the yard...
so she tried the windows to see if one was open...
she was pushing up on one...
well the glass broke...
and cut her arm right below her elbow...
a severe cut... then she had to knock out the rest of the glass...
climb through the window...to get her phone...
she had cut her arm deep...
she call the paramedics...
when they arrived..she called me...
they took her to the hospital...
after she got the dogs all situated...
Hubby and I jumped in the car...
headed to the emergency room...
it was after 10:00 pm...
it is a 30 minute trip on a good day...
it was a good day...
but is was the longest drive I have ever made...
Family friends went to the house...
to get all the dogs taken care of...
clean up the glass...the blood...
cover up the window...
11 stitches....
my daughter said I was white when I got there...
no color at all in my face...
once I saw her...my color came back...
she was so calm...cool...and collected...
I was so very proud of what a strong women she is...
she really kept her head...
in a bad situation...
when we left the hospital...
we picked up Hatari and Bo...
fed the cats...
picked up the meds at the 24 hour CVS...
headed to our house with everyone...
after a few hours sleep.....
my day started...
Hotrod came extra early...
we had an early call to be at...
at 8:00 on the nose...
we were on the phone to get an appointment...
with the orthopedic Dr...
thanks to our family friend...
we were able to get in at 1:40...
I spent the morning getting things ready for us to go...
Pawpaw was keeping Hotrod....
I had office things to do...
then I had to get everything lined out and ready for...
Pawpaw and Hotrod...
to spend the afternoon together...
before I knew it we had to head to Lewisville...
take care of cats...then to the Dr....
we got in really quick...
they examined her...did x-rays...
gave us the good news...
ligaments and tendons all fine...
muscle cut...but can repair itself...
the swelling is causing her pinky finger not to work properly..
they did tests and it is fine...
back in 10 days to remove stitches...and check progress...
we both breathed a huge
sigh of relieve...
she has to keep it elevated...and iced...
I told my son how lucky she was...
his response was...
she was very lucky in a unlucky kind of way...
lot's of prayers have been said...
we have a wonderful group of friends and family...
My daughters friend told her...
your guardian Angel (Nana)
must really be working her wings off...
to try to keep you safe...
that is 2 times in 2 weeks...
a bad situation was saved from being...
a tragic situation...
there is always so much to be Thankful for....
