I am so excited...
I finally saw black bellied whistlers in person...
I have seen them on Run A Round Ranch Report...
they are so cool in person...
they whistle not quack...
there were just a few of them....
I don't know if this one was the lookout...
or the loner of the group...
it was in a very tall tree...
just hanging out...
we went to a different park yesterday...
the one we normally go to was closed...
because of all the rain we've had...
I'm so happy we went here...
it is actually a little closer...
we have a lot of parks in our town...
there are three within walking or biking distance...
we are having rain again today..
we have had over 5 inches this week...
Today I'm joining This or That Thursday.....

How come the name, doesn't refer to that distinctive RED beak, I wonder...?

I love the way the sun catches the guy in the tree in the first capture of him!!
PS - Send the rain this way - we are kinda dry...
i'm SO glad you got to see some! aren't they the coolest?! :)
i am thinking they flew over from Theresa Run around ranch for a visit with you. LOVE the look out.
Oh how neat!! Great shots of those ducks♥
Those ducks are awesome! Great photos.
What an interesting duck. I have never heard of them before. the things I learn from my blogger friends!
I am glad to read that you did not get the sickness. It went all around my workplace last week, but I did not get it either.
Aren't they cute!
Lovely picture of the ducks, Deb. I think we saw some of these on a trip to New Orleans last fall. They didn't quack, and I thought that was weird.
Great photos of these cute guys!
Such cute birds!
That's exciting! Great captures!
Wow! I've not seen this kind. Very interesting looking. Thank the Lord for the rain. We needed it. Have a good weekend.
How exciting to see these guys in the wild. There are a few in our local aviary but I would like to see them in their natural habitat.
That's a lot of rain. We've gotten a lot in the last week but not quite that much.
Oh my goodness they are so cute! I don't believe I have ever seen one before.
How wonderful! And oh, Deb I LOVE the shot of the "lookout" in the tree. Such a professional shot! Great job!
