who says you have to have bright colors to be beautiful...
some times being plain is beautiful....
she has just a splash of color...
a little understated I guess....
oh I love bright flashy colors....
but I also like the subdued too...
I know she is this way to protect her family...
sometimes I think you have to be subdued to protect your family...
sometimes you have to watch out for the quiet ones...
they are there in the back grounds watching...
making sure all is safe...
if danger comes around you won't know what hit you...
the key is to know when to be subdued...
and when to be flashy....

How true. I was never one to draw attention to myself and never really understood those who did. Besides - brown is beautiful : )
Even with her subdues browns she is a very beautiful girl. Flashy daddy will lure the predators away but should one come towards the chicks I'm betting mama would put up one heck of a fight.

i have always wondered why the females were not as pretty as the males, in all of bird land, never thought about they are that way for a purpose. thanks for making me think.
