Black and White....

 

 It's funny when I was little...

color photos were so cool...

the instamatic ones even cooler...

 

 now I'm in love with black and white photos...

it just gives a whole different view...

 

I think some photos are even better in black and white...

 

they make me feel nostalgic...

I seem to do that a lot any more...

get all sentimental for past times...

 

Hotrod and his Mom rode the roller coaster...

he loved it...except for all the girls squealing...

he put his hands over his ears...

thank goodness they had a little one and understood...



I would love to have a pile of goats like this...



 Hotrod had a blast on all the rides....

On Monday he told me he was ready to go back...

to ride more rides...

Hotrod and Pawpaw were easy to spot in the crowds...

this little bunny got lots of exercise...

trying to stay ahead of all the little ones....

once again our Texas weather has changed...

yesterday we were almost 80 degrees...

a storm blew in and dropped us 30 degrees...

we got high winds...pea sized hail...

rain...which we needed...

today the sun is out...the wind is blowing...

it is cold...but after all it is supposed to be cold...

 Did you know that each day a dairy cows eats:

28 lbs. corn silage, 12.64 lbs alfalfa hay, 8.41 lbs barley, 4.33 lbs wheat bran, 3 lbs beet pulp, 5.5 lbs cottonseed, .75 lb fat,  .12 lb salt, .5 lb minerals/vitamins, 255 lbs water (30 gallons) that's almost a bathtub full  



Cows are very social animals....

 They form large herds and just like people...

 they will bond to some herd members ...

while avoiding others.....

 



 

One cow produces

 from 200,000 to 350,000 glasses of milk

in her lifetime.....



we love going to Fort Worth....

the Stock show was a blast...

the whole family was able to go...

this was Hotrods first visit...



I had so much fun watching him soak it all in...

but I had even more fun....

watching the family watch him...

the looks on their faces while they were watching him...

priceless...



 

I also enjoyed the people cowboy watching...

and let me tell you we saw a lot of them...

all sizes...ages...

something about a male in boots...jeans...

top off with a cowboy hat...

makes a Texas gal smile...

a face like this just melts your heart...

my yearn for a goat came back too....

we kicked up our heels at the Ft. Worth Stock show...

too tired to post tonight...

 my hubby built a fire...

I grabbed my camera...

I love how you don't notice the cool things about the fire...

until you photograph it...

the bigger the better...

I love photographing them...

it's a winning situation...

(he is very cautious with his fires...no need to be nervous)

when did our language start declining???

I mean when did it become acceptable to use the words

people use now....

one of on the top of my list is....

 

Bitch or Bitches...

1.

a female dog

2.

a female of canines generally.

3.

Slang .

a.

a malicious, unpleasant, selfish person, especially a woman.

b.

a lewd woman.

c.

Disparaging and Offensive . any woman.

 

that was the original meaning...

Now......

 it is used for all females...for friends...etc...

I don't want to be called one...

I don't call my friends that...

I don't call females that...

when did it become a term of endearment or maybe not...

 

the F word is used as freely as saying Hello or good bye...

It still shocks me every time I hear it...

growing up I was told using cuss words...

only showed your ignorance...

it sure does make it hard raising kids now days...

songs...tv...out in public...

you just never know when it will pop up...

another pet peeve of mine is men calling their wife's or girlfriends...

my old lady...

just seems disrespectful...

 I have had a horrible time with technology today...

my computers are driving me crazy...

every thing I've gone to do today has gone awry...

trying to pay a bill on line...

it kept giving me a message that my card was blocked...

called the number on the back of the card...

they told me I was entering the security code wrong...

I checked it each time...

the bank had put a block on my card after the third time I tried...

they unblocked it...

 on my lap top I was having a hard time getting my e-mails to open... I had to use my phone to open them...

every where I've called today I've been put on hold...

been disconnected...or transferred to the wrong department...

I feel like I'm in a technology funk....

tried down loading photos on Facebook...

half would download the others were black...

had to delete them 3 different times...

 I think I need another adventure in the woods...

no technology...no phones...just me and Mother nature...

 our weather is beautiful today...

in the mid 70's...

sun shining...that is lifting my spirits...

just love this photo of my hubby...

it is just so him....

everyone thinks he is a cowboy...

but he's not...he just looks like one...

talks like one...acts like one...

we will be married 30 years next month...

where does the time go???

asking tons of questions...noticing cool stuff at every turn...

 

Seeing Mommy and Daddy at the end of the trail....

is the cherry on top....

A sunday morning trip to the park...

good for the soul....good for the mind...

good for the body...

we walked over a mile on our adventure...

Hotrod was still going..and going...and going...

spent another 30 minutes on the play ground...
