I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas...
I know we sure did...
it is 3:30 in the afternoon...
the day after....
I am still in my P.J's......
(the above coat rack was from my sweet Mom....
she found the board at a local antique shop...
then added her flair to it)....
I have not been a very good blog friend the last month...
life has kept me busy...
Hotrod was sick...
then Hubby was sick...
then I was sick...
DARN COLDS....
(this chest was my Great Grandmothers....
thank you Dad and Kandy)
We moved our office....
and our bedroom....
painting...pulling up carpet....
(this cabinet was my Grandmothers...
some of the treasures inside are from my Great Grandparents...
all sides of my family Thank you Dad and Kandy and Mom)

 I feel very blessed...
that my parents....
are in trusting me with the family treasures...
( our new bedroom)

My Mom matted and framed this photo for me...
it is my Nana on her 90th birthday...
Nana is my (our ladybug)...
the inspiration for Ladybug from Texas...
she called me ladybug when I was growing up...
then when I got older I called her ladybug...
we have passed it on to Hotrod too...
all ladybugs are now Edna...
which is my Nana's name....
she sat on the table on Christmas day...
we all felt like she was with us...

My Dad made this fire pit for Hubby and I....
you might remember the one with the horses running around
the top...(Hubby hit it with the forklift...)

it was put to good use on Christmas Day....
the first time for Hotrod and my niece to roast marshmallows...

I think the grown ups had even more fun than the kiddos...
Hotrod decided he like the "raw" ones better...
but he loved the putting the stick in the fire part....
he even got to put some logs on the fire....

this was a tame fire...
Hubby usually likes great big...
run on the ground fires...
It was a wonderful Christmas day...
watching the excitement of the two kiddos...
opening their gifts...
Hotrod was pulling things out of his stocking here...
he pulled out a few little toys...
then he found a banana...
he thought that was the funniest thing...
then he found a orange...a apple...and raisins....
he said Oma....look what Santa put in my stocking...
when we were growing up we just got fruit and candy in ours...
he is only used to having toys....
funny how times change....

I always received fruit and nuts in my stocking growing up. Times change for sure. Sounds like you had a great Christmas, despite the illnesses.
