It was a beautiful weekend....

the weather was perfect....

Thank you Mother Nature....

 

It was a busy weekend....

Saturday morning was spent doing house hold chores...

a quick trip to Lowes....

then off to the lake....

 

 back from the lake....

Hotrod came for a sleep over....

we cooked steaks on the grill...

my daughter joined us for dinner...

Hotrod loved that...

we even ate on the picnic table....

then Hubby and Daughter were off to perform their dance...

 

Hotrod and I had movie night....

we watched a Bernstein Bear marathon...

his new favorite...books and shows...

I like that there is always a lesson with every story...

he wanted jelly beans as his snack...

I added almonds to counter act the sugar...

Papaw was back in time for the last show...

every one slept in this morning...

7:20....that is sleeping in around here...

even Nolan slept in...

he is usually up bright and early...

looking to be fed....

Hotrod was picked up after breakfast...

I had time for a quick bath....

loaded up...headed to the lake...

with a change of clothes for Hubby and I...

then we headed to a funeral...

Hubbys Uncle's Ex wife...the mother of Hubby's cousins..

passed away unexpectedly...

she had just turned 70....

we were on the road a lot today...

the funeral was an hour away...

We had a late lunch...

Fajitas....a glass of Sangria for me...a beer for Hubby...

then home for a nice late afternoon nap....

a wonderful weekend....

Today I'm joining....

 the sun rise was beautiful yesterday....

then it stayed cold, rainy and gloomy all day....

 

 around dark time...the temps raised up...

ole Mother Nature is still showing her control...

 

 my heart melts every time I see the love...

between my son and his son....

 

 I don't know if either one of them realize...

what a special thing they have...

being able to spend so much time together...

riding to and from work together every day...

getting extra hugs before Daddy heads out for the day...

Daddy stopping by during the day...or working at the office...

 

 I was fortunate to always work from home...

or work where the kiddos could come with me...

they both grew up in a work environment...

now Hotrod is...

 

 the weather is suppose to be awesome this weekend...

I'm really looking forward to it...

I get to take photos at a family picnic...

also for a high school senior...

 

I love my photography hobby....

it really makes me feel good...

to see others enjoy the photos I take of them...

even people that don't like having their photos taken...

let loose after a while...

that is what makes me the happiest...

My brothers 50th birthday is coming in April...

they are having a 1964 themed party....

I'm really excited ....

My Uncle Gene turns 75 this Sunday...

Happy Birthday Uncle Gene.....

Hotrod is sleeping over again this weekend...

Hubby is dancing with our daughter at a Hotel...

Yeah Spring....

Spring is popping....

 spring is popping up all around us...

just a few weeks ago there was no color to be found...

 

 my heart started to flutter when I saw these wild flowers...

I love wild flowers....they are my all time favorites...

 

 when I see purple....

I think of my Mamaw...

that women loved purple...

she even had a purple couch at one time...

a solid purple couch....

 

 as I was snapping away at the park...

a gentlemen was telling my Hubby...

about two butterflies up the trail...

he said your Lady will love to get photos of them...

hmmm wondered how he knew...

was it the fact that I was snapping everything in sight...

or maybe he has a kindred photography spirit...

well I'm just glad he told us....

no touch ups on the one above...

 

 a little spring fling was going on...

of course I had to play with the photos a bit....

love is in the air....

today is cold and rainy...

but we need all the moisture we can get...



Claws foot tub....

 when we bought our house...

it had only one bathroom...

with a tub...surrounded by UGLY OLD pink tile...

Hubby tore down the tile...

only to find...a claws foot tub....

the inside was in good shape...

Hubby repainted the outside...

and the legs...

well that was 15 years ago...

we used it for a long time...

then had plumbing issues...

so it sat for a while....

 we pulled it out of that bathroom.....

Hubby got all the paint of the feet...

we decided to leave the natural look...

with a sealer on it...

 

 we had the inside redone...

Hubby repainted the outside...

a soft gray...

 

now it is in our new bathroom...

Hubby and I are both in love with it...

theirs nothing like soaking in a big tub...

it has a hand held shower...

so hair washing is easy....

I may never use a regular shower again....



 Hubby has been busy with projects...

I don't know what has come over him...

but I'm not going to question it....

this is phase one of our new bar...

 

 they cut it from a big piece of steel...

 

 this is what my son was cutting on my last post...

Hubby added the dings in the top...

with a hammer...(very loud)...

 

 it is bolted to the floor...

so it is not going any where...

will post more photos when phase 2 is complete...

 

we had a sleepover/movie night with Hotrod...

he refuses to wear PJ's...

but will where these sleep shorts until bed time...

he got a little bowl with...

jelly beans...M&M's...Malt balls...almonds...

and one Milkdud...

(small amounts...but he thought it was cool)

 

 

 

Hubby does not text...or email...

so I use the chalk board to leave him messages...

behind this chalk board is an electrical panel...

it was just a piece of wood on there...

not very attractive...

so Hubby painted it with chalk paint...

not it adds a little style...

gives me a place to write little notes...

Hotrod likes to add his own drawings to it...

I really would love to learn how to weld....

oh my...there are so many projects I would love to do....

 since I don't know how...

I just resigned myself to taking photos of my son...

using a torch...

 

 they are building us a bar...

of course you know I will post photos of it...

 

 I am very proud of my son...

he has been working on eating healthier...

making better choices...

he is loosing weight...slow and steady....

the best way to do it....

setting a good example for Hotrod....



as you can see I have been playing again....

just loving Spring already....

my $1 flowers from Lowes are doing awesome...

every time I look at them they make me smile...

 



we have a lot of Robin's this year...

the blue jays...cardinals...and woodpeckers are back also...

Spring is such an exciting time of year...

all the new growth...plants...animals...

oh it just makes my heart sing....

 nests are popping up in all the trees....

 

I just wish the cardinals weren't so camera shy....

I will keep stalking them....

 





 The first day of Spring...

I did the happy Dance....

seems like I've been waiting so long...

 

 My Mom took my daughter and I to lunch today...

another Birthday celebration....

we went to Big State Drug Store...

I just love that place...

they have all the burgers...patty melts...shakes and such....

but they also have an awesome Salad...

which is what I had.....

loved every bite of it...

 Hubby built me a fire tonight...

it was nice sitting on my new bench...

with a glass of Merlot...

taking photos of the fire...

 

 Hatari sat with me on the bench...

Rooster has taken over my glider...

it was a beautiful day today....

oh I love Spring...

the birds are singing...

the squirrels are busy running around...

the wild flowers are starting to pop up....

 

 Santa brought Hotrod a big boy bike for Christmas...

he is almost ready to take the training wheels off...

he can really ride that bike...

my son sent me videos tonight...

oh he is growing up too fast....

 

 my daughter has invited Hubby to dance with her...

at a performance next weekend...

seems like just yesterday...

they were doing a Father Daughter dance at her recital...

she was 5 or 6 years old...

they will be doing it at a local hotel...

for an awards show...

 

this week has flown by...

we are having a sleepover with Hotrod this weekend...

I am suppose to take photos for a friend this weekend...

she is wanting photos of her 4 grandkids...

for her husbands birthday present...

we are having to plan around the weather...

and a baseball tournament...

My brothers 50th birthday is next month...

his wife is planning a party for him...

with a 1964 theme...

I'm off to find some ideas for his present...

Tuesday we were 81...

today woke up to 45....

the wind is blowing...

a very cold breeze...

well it's better than 52 years ago...

Mom said their was snow and ice on the ground...



I've been so enjoying all the Birthday wishes...

it's fun having them all pop up on my phone...

 



I finally figured out how to....

change a photo to black and white...

then add pops of color back....

just took a little research....

love that site...



Hubby got my tub all installed...

had a nice long soak...

slept like a puppy last night...

would have said Baby...

but most Babies don't sleep well...

but every puppy I know does...
