our purple hull peas are blooming...
the garden is really bringing us a lot of joy...
a lot of hard work....
a lot of good food...
zinnias are one of my favorite flowers...
when you plant the seeds...
you never know what to expect...
each bloom is a nice little surprise...
it has been a nice weekend...
Friday night we went to a concert...
in our downtown area...
it was free...
The Kildare's performed...
they are an Irish rock band...
they play at the State Fair and all over the area...
one of the band members was born and raised in our town...
The female fiddle player...
6 time Nation fiddle player champ...
My Mom was able to join Hubby and I...
there were lots of families with kiddos..
people from baby to 80 years old or older...
there enjoying the music and the nice evening...
Saturday was spent mowing...
weeding...watering...gathering veggies...
a trip to Cox farm with my Mom...
it is a local grocery that sells a lot of organic items...
has paleo friendly food...
they had blue berries for .99 a pint...
I had just paid 3.99 at my normal grocery store...
I stocked up...freezing them to have as a snack...
and for winter when I can't find them...
Saturday evening we went to a fish fry...
My BFF's Dad has one every year...
It was a nice evening....
catching up with friends...
Hubby enjoyed the fried fish...
he doesn't get fried foods very often...
so he really enjoyed it...
this morning we met the family for a Father's Day breakfast...
Hotrod put on a show for everyone...
we weren't thrilled with the food...
but the company was fun...
My Mom joined us to before going to church...
her church moved to a new location in a different town...
they have a really nice location...
After breakfast I got to have a nice chat with my Dad...
Happy Fathers Day Dad...
Love you...
I get to see him next weekend at Hotrod's birthday party...
back to my grubby clothes...
out to the garden...
weeding...watering...planting...trimming...
Friends stopped by for a visit...
Happy Birthday S.H....
she is one of our Fun girl gals...
Her Hubby and my Hubby grew up together....
it was a nice break...
Hubby and I had lunch on the picnic table...
we really enjoy eating outside...
back to work in the yard...
then I took a nice afternoon nap....
(Shirley eating at the Squirrel/Bird Café)
Hubby and I had fruit for supper...
honey do melon...cantaloupe...grapes... strawberries..
blue berries...almond butter...
Hubby had Swiss cheese...
I fixed me some ginger root tea with mint and lemon...
a very nice light summer supper...
I used my camera for the first time in a week...
these are the photos I took...
I had been so busy all week...
I hadn't had a chance to get it out...
just what I needed to end the weekend...
