Howdy from hot Texas....

It was a long day today....
I was up at 5:00 am doing paper work....
shut down the office at 7:00 pm.....

I think I made a tiny dent....
(no we didn't get any rain....)
it's that time of year for us....
even though I complain about the heat...
it is good for our business....

tomorrow will be a repeat day....
atleast it is Friday....
going to meet old friends for happy hour...
something to look forward to after a hard day...

I love having little britches with me every day....
it makes the day better for sure...
his little smiling face....
watching him grow...
watching him learn....
definately worth the tiredness I feel at the end of the day...

Are you a fashionista??
I'm definately not....
but I love shoes....
especially sandals and boots...
they don't have to be name brand..
or designer....I don't like to spend alot on them....
recently I found 4 pairs of shoes for $12...
at a local thrift store....the were all like brand new..
I felt like I hit the jackpot....
what was your last jackpot buy??

I do not envy you the heat you are getting! What we have is bad enough!!!
I like that first shot of the fence! I would have deleted it, but you have somehow made it interesting!

Went back and looked - it is your focus that makes it so interesting. My little point and shoot would not give me that lovely fading!

This heat is unbearable. I was so hoping we'd get some of that tropical storm but looks like it's not going to happen. It's depressing to walk outside and feel what's left of the brown grass crunch under my feet. Ugh..
Stay cool,
Berte

Hope you get some good rest tonight and be refreshed to enjoy another day with sweet Little Britches. We hit the jackpot on a new window AC we purchased a couple weeks ago. The regular price was $400.00 and change we purchased it for $160.00 after the sale price and 2 discounts. Enjoy your shoes! Hugs

Sounds like a great find and a busy, but satisfying day.

I bought 4 pairs of capris and pants an a shirt for $4.50, while I was volunteering at the Hug A Horse Thrift Store yesterday. I love it when I'm able to find my size.
I've also bought some very nice shoes in my size in the past two....something like $6 for 5 pairs of shoes.
I'm far from being a fashionista. Comfort and long lasting qualities are what I look for.

It may be exceedingly hot down your way. But that doesn't stop you from finding lovely photo ops. :-)

Picture taking is a joy, is it not? yes, of course it is!

My jackpot buys usually occur when a craft store is going out of business. I usually (encouraged by my husband) come home with quite a load of supplies!

Btw...look at the white spot on the fence in your first photo...it looks like a bird!

Happy weekend!

that is a long day! You deserve happy hour tonight. I really need to go shopping...not much into the 'in' fashions, but need some clothes that aren't stained from gardening or painting...

Isn't this heat drought a killer.
I drove to town today and it was barely raining in Brenham so got my hopes up that when I returned home with groceries that my yard would be watered but no such luck.
Guess it means I have to water again tonight.
Love all of your photo's.
Thanks for your sweet comment about my bad luck. With friends like you with help me get through this.
Love
Maggie

We actually had two rain showers here in south Texas...... couldn't believe it. Beautiful clouds, thunder and rain!! Yea!

You really found a bargain on your shoes..... I can't remember a good bargain in a long time.

Hope you had a great "Happy Hour".....

We are needing rain as well....it was supposed to have rained today but it did not happen. Everything is getting so dry..its hard to keep all the plants watered...some of them are drying up. I try to keep my bird baths filled with fresh water.
I hope the rain comes soon for everyone who needs it.
Have a great weekend!

I love what you 'see'! You have a great eye!
I like finding good jeans for $5.00 at Thrift shops! You'd be surprised that they are out there.....maybe a little easier for men to find some!

We keep hearing about the heartland heat. We've actually been cooler than usual here.
I'm no fashionista. My favorite buys are always books!
