There seems to be a lot of "hair splitting" as we call it in the south these days....a lot of controversy over statements people make...
If you belong to one group it is okay to use certain statements as long as you didn't really mean them in a bad way...or if you still support that person...but if your not in that group and you don't support that person..well it is not okay...and heads will roll....
I don't know....where do you draw the line??? I've always been under the since....if you can't say something nice....don't say nothing at all....but now a days it's more like if you can't say something nice...come sit next to me...and it is reported every where...
Someone will come up with a text message...a e-mail...a voice mail or
even a recording....or a photo....
If you keep negative thoughts and comments to yourself...and think before you speak....be thoughtful and considerate...you have nothing to worry about....
But everyone at one time or another says or does something that they wish they could change...Should they be forgiven? If they admit they are wrong and apologize or pay the consequences for their actions....is that enough????
It really depends on what gr0up your in...according to politics .... the movie and music industry...
But us folks in the real world....I think we handle it better...we usually handle the matter and get on with our lives....
What do you think??

It's the media that yammers on about high profile people's mis-speaks. The people themselves would just as soon forgive and forget, I suspect.
Deb I agree with you and Janie. The media blows things up all the time. EVERYONE, no matter who they are says things that they wish they hadn't. Normal people just get over it, but if it's a high ranking official, we never hear the end of it. Even President Obama has said things that were taken the wrong way.
I TOTALLY believe in if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. And I can not stand anything racist. When I get those "chain texts" and they have some racist joke on them, I tell them not to text me anymore.
Very good points!
