this morning Little britches and I made a kite...
we took it outside...
Rooster approved...
little britches ran around with it...
for a couple of minutes...
then....
he threw it into the dog water....
so I pulled it out...
set it out to dry....
he was then on to another adventure...
all this before 9:00 am...
we have another ripe strawberry...
I'm going to let little britches pick it in the morning...
he's been waiting...
Can you stand a few more butterfly photos???
I'm so enjoying all the butterflies....
not the mosquito's though...
I found a recipe for mosquito repellant...
it's super easy....and it seems to work...
1/3 cup vinegar or apple cidar vinegar
1/3 cup witch hazel or cheap vodka
5 drops citronella or eucalptus essential oil...
put in a spray bottle....
shake it up each time...
very cheap to make...
doesn't have that bad smell of commercial brands...
have you smiled at someone today?
:)

the kite was cute - while it lasted. :)
That is a cute kite, maybe it will fly when it dries out. Looks like you and Little Britches had a busy morning.
We don't have a lot of mosquitoes most summers but I don't like the commercial repellents. I'm going to make a copy of the recipe just in case. Thanks!
this is a good recipe for me since I am allergic to Off and the other sprays. i use skin so soft from avon in water and keep a spray bottle in my car and one in the garage, but the smell kills me. the little biters really can ruin a fun day outside. they are here to, when we open the door to come in, one of two come with us then delight in buzzing my ears.
Ohhhhhh, a kite!!!!!!!!
But -grin-, they do love to throw a lot of things, in water, don't they? -giggles-
Thank you for the natural mosquito spray idea!!!!! Mosquitoes love me. I hate the smell/feel of commercial sprays. Oh I so hope this will work for me!!!!! :-)
I'll give the recipe to the "resident pharmacist," and ask him to compound it for me!!! ,-)
Love the butterflies. Little britches can sure keep you busy.
Cute kite! Love the you have strawberries. Enjoy!
Lol on the kite -- too cute. :)
Cute kite, and then off he goes to another project...kids are so much fun!
Kite flying, fun. I need to do that with Kins. I'm going to try that bug spray, I never like spraying the chemical type on Kins.
This morning on the news they were talking about vanilla as being a repellent for mosquitos. I didn't catch the whole report darn it.
Cute kite. Kept little Britches occupied for 10 minutes. LOL
