eeny meeny miny moe...
catch a tiger by his toe...
isn't it funny how all the songs and sayings come back to you...
what fun it is to see another generation get excited about them...
I'm amazed how many songs and sayings Hotrod knows now...
he is like a little sponge...just soaking it all up....

lolli pop....lolli pop...o lolli lolli...
a new favorite song...
also Rockin' Robin...tweet tweet tweet....
I think grand kids help your brain...
make you dig deep into the memory banks...

I made Hotrod some new homemade playdoh...
I also made more sidewalk paint...
all it you do is mix one cup water...one cup cornstarch...
add food coloring...I add a drop or two of dish soap...
makes clean up easier...
I made enough of both to share with my niece...
My Mom keeps her a few days a week...
she's 5 months younger than Hotrod...
well Mom called to tell me she had a blast with the paint...
she had to hose her down outside before she could take her in..
now you know if they are covered in it...they love it...
made me a proud Aunt...

it is so funny to have a niece younger that my grandson....
those two babies keep us all young...
what a blessing it is to have them....
my daughter will be moving out this summer...
to her first apartment...
I'm so happy she will have a good roommate...
I don't know what we will do with the extra room...
it is amazing one girl can take up 4 rooms in a house...
last summer you may remember she spent 6 weeks
in Argentina studying dance and Spanish...
on her own...not knowing a single sole when she got there...
I think she is ready to be on her own...
she has always been independant...
I'm very proud of the woman she has become...
a new chapter begins....

Sweet that you have this special relationship with your grandson. I grew up with my grandparents far away.

my 4 yr old granddaughter was teaching me to sing "Rockin Robin" just yesterday. She wouldn't believe that I knew the song from a long time ago.

It is not fun to be around grumpy people. I try to keep to myself when I am feeling grumpy. Wonderful pictures as always sweet Deb. Hugs

I know what you mean, it's amazing to watch how fast they can learn things at this age. I'm trying the sidewalk paint recipe! Kins will love it.

Deb, I know exactly what you mean about the space you gain when daughter moved out! :) We don't realize how much room one person takes up until they're gone. Well, good for her. So, how are you doing?
Love the recipe for paint. I have the Playdoh recipe. If only I had concrete instead of rocks! :) Have a wonderful weekend. (P.S. Got a good rain shower this afternoon. Hooray!)

Life, like the year, is constantly changing. Renewing. Moving forward.

You have the little ones in your life. And now, your own was-little-one is ready to get her own place. Things move on. All we need to do, is flow with them... Without looking back...

Oh but memories are fine. :-))))))

"Summer food....Grown by you...Or on a nearby farm...Does it get any better than this?"

How exciting for your daughter! Having grandkids (which, of course, I don't yet) gives one a good excuse to play--isn't play dough fun!

Little ones keep us young, that's for sure.

Happy for your daughter -- may she continue to bloom. :)

It's true, being around grandbabies is so fun. I keep remembering nursery rhymes and favorite songs.
Nice that your daughter is moving on to be a totally independent woman.

I remember the kids always did finger painting in the nude, with the bath already run...
For songs, check out the Canadian Raffi - Baby Beluga is really one you can sing along with. I can hear it now, and my baby is coming up on 26...
