Happy Good Friday everyone...

it has been a crazy week here...

I am so ready for my mini vacation....

 my camera and I haven't had much time together this week...

that will change soon...

we had a sad thing happen this week...

a long time dance instructor in my area...

Gloria Whetstone passed away...she died in a house fire...

she will be greatly missed...

 

 I decided to play a little with this photo....

I thought the bubbles were interesting....

 

 My daughter, Hotrod and I went to Bass Pro Shop today...

Hotrod loves that place...it is so cool...

we are all ready for our fishing trip...

Hotrod has his first rod and reel...

keep your fingers crossed we catch some fish...

 yesterday was art day...

Hotrod decided painting his hands was fun....

he's a boy that likes to get into his work....

 My Dad and step Mom gave me cute lawn lights...

they are solar powered....

so cool....

 the moon was so cool last night...

I tried taking colored photos...

but they didn't turn out...

so I tried black and white...

I like they way the moon looks peaking through the trees...

 

now I know why it's been a crazy around here...

the Moon....

I have been crazy in the office...

Hotrod is going through new stages...

my hormones are all going nuts...

 



 

 

Counting down till our weekend get away....

 

 

 I've been trying to eat healthy....

my daughter gave me a cool recipe for pancakes...

you take one egg...one banana...

mash up the banana...mix in the egg...

cook like regular pancakes....

easy...and yummy....

 

 I have never tried spaghetti squash before...

it was so easy...cut in half...clean out seeds...

put in a pan with the cutside down...

bake in oven at 350 for approximately 30 minutes...

when it's done pull out the spaghetti with a fork...

it's great with sauce or just eat like it is...

 

our weather has been crazy...below freezing mornings...

windy....cold....

today is warmer...the sun is shining...

hopefully the weather will be nice for our Easter weekend...

forecast says in the 70's...

with only a slight chance of rain...

hoping Mother Nature co-operates...

last year it rained all day...drenching rains..

no Egg hunt for Hotrod...



Spring...I'm so ready for you to stay...



Whooo....do you ever want to just slam on your breaks...

slow things down...

 or  do you want to run...

just run as fast as you can???

 

 do you ever feel like your hanging on for dear life??

like your on a run away horse...

(I know it's blurry...but thought it made a good effect)

 

and then someone comes along...

pulls you up...

 things feel right again...

maybe just by giving you a smile...

or the sound of their voice...

they might not even know...

how a tiny little thing they do...

can make your world feel right again...

smiling at the person in the car next to you...

saying hello to your neighbor...asking about their health...

opening a door for a Mom with kids in tow...

calling a old friend just to say Hello...

can improve someone's day...

maybe yours too...

 



 Ain't no sunshine today....

we are getting some much needed rain...

we had my Birthday dinner last night...

I have such an awesome family....

we went to eat at The Flying Fish...

they have awesome seafood...

it is a family environment...

 you see people of all ages there...

last night there was a lot of elderly folks...

when I say elderly I mean in their 80's...

such cute couples...

walking hand in hand...

families with babies...

Hotrod had a blast...

he sat at the end of the table...

kept us all entertained...

and the folks walking past too...

 we are looking forward to our Easter weekend...

Happy Palm Sunday everyone...

we have rented a cabin...the place has a heated swimming pool...

paddle boats...canoes...

hoping the weather co-operates with us...

Hatari and Nolan will be going with us...

Rooster and Ginger will be staying home...

to watch over things...a family friend will be staying with them...

we had first thought about taking all the dogs...

but that would have been 6 dogs...

too much of a circus...

Hotrod with get his first time to really fish...

not just fish for pretend fish with a stick...

hope he loves it as much as we do...



 winter is back....or at least cold weather...

we were so enjoying the warm sunny weather...

then boom...we were 66 this morning...

then the front hit...we dropped to 20 degrees..

we have freeze warnings next week...

so happy I haven't planted anything yet...

I know I shouldn't complain...

so many of you still have snow...

my Uncle from Missouri sent me snow photos today...

My brother in law from Washington state did also...

I think they should both move to Texas....

 it is amazing how much fun a little boy can have

with logs...and how much fun an Oma can have...

taking photos of it...

hubby didn't understand why I wanted to keep them...

but Hotrod and I have lots of fun on them...

so do the dogs....

looking forward to a Family Night Dinner on Saturday....

any big plans for the weekend?

 

My good deed for the day...

 yesterday I came home and found this Hawk...

laying on the side walk...

Rooster was circling him...

but not trying to get him...

I got Rooster and put him in the other part of the yard...

 

 I could see that he was breathing...

so I called Hubby...to see if I should call Animal control...

he said no...asked if I could pick him up...

I said no way....I had Hotrod with me...

so I saw a crate....I took Hotrod to the other side of the fence...

told him to stay put...

 

 I looked at our bedroom window...

saw a few feathers stuck to it...

we have birds hit it all the time...

I think he was probably chasing a Starling..

hit the window...and it knocked him silly...

 I put the crate over him...he laid there a while...

then stood up....I think he was starting to get his senses back...

 

 I decided I would pull off the crate after I put Hotrod down

for his nap...after the Goose attack....

I'm a little leery of birds...

 

about the time I was going to do it...

my son stopped by...

so he let it out for me...

off it flew...a little crooked...

I did my good deed for the day...

 I'm still playing with black and white...

I like taking black and whites photos...

instead of taking color and draining the color out...

 

 My Mom took me...Hotrod and my daughter to lunch

today at the Olive Garden for my birthday...

Thank you Mom...

she said I was a cheap date...

I told her that is why Hubby married me...

I'm a cheap date...LOL...

 thought I would share  a few more of my racetrack photos...

this car belongs to a guy we went to school with...

he just got it recently...

we've decided we need to take Hotrod to the races...

he loves cars...he knows the makes of cars...

by looking at them...you tell him once...he remembers...

these races aren't real loud like the "Big Boys" as the old timers

call them...these are mainly street cars souped up....

I'll try not to bore you with any more details...

I'm sure some of you are ready to click out...

The first day of Spring...and I've started sneezing a bit...

had the yard men come yesterday...

the weeds had taken over...it looks so much nicer now...

I used to do all my own yard work...would spend

every weekend and some evenings in the yard...

now I would rather spend my free time doing other things...

I'm getting excited to plant my veggie garden...

but I am waiting till after Easter...

I don't want a frost to get my plants...

My Dad has planted some in his garden...

he said if it gets killed by the frost...he will just plant again...



I feel very blessed today...

my phone was constantly going off with text messages...

voice messages...face book...email messages...

wishing me a happy birthday...

Hotrod came in...Happy Birthday Oma...

is it time for balloons yet?

where's the cake...

he was ready to party...

we are going out for a family dinner Saturday night...

 



my granddogs were back today...

the boys were sure happy to have the girls back...

neither one of them were here yesterday...

 



my Dad and step Mom came to visit...

they brought me a family heirloom...

I love things passed down from the family...

Hotrod put on quite a show...

he loves an audience....

My Mom came by for a visit...

she brought me the prettiest purse...

it's just the right size...I don't like big purses...

and it has a shoulder strap...much easier to keep up with...

tomorrow is the first day of spring...

we are headed into my favorite time of the year...

spring/summer...

I know....most people can't believe...

a person living in Texas would love summer...

but as my long time buddies know...

I do....I <3 font="" summer....="">

 

 I have been super busy with my camera....

taking lots of photos...

but coming up with something interesting to talk about...

another story...

 

 we are planning our Easter...

we always invite the family over for a meal...this

year I wanted to do something different...

we are going to rent a cabin for the family

at a lake...

 

 It's time to get Hotrod started camping...

and learning to fish....

 

I'm really excited...

Hubby is already talking about the fishing...

planning to cook steaks for everyone that Saturday night...

I think it's time to start  new family traditions...

I love having everyone over...but it will be

so much more fun getting away....

 I had a awesome weekend....

the weather was beautiful...

 

 Saturday night Hubby and I went to the drag races...

we knew people that were racing....

We had a lot of fun...

when I was a kid a lot of time was spent at the race track...

I didn't enjoy it then... but now I love it...

something about the sounds...seeing the speed....

my Mom raced powder puff when I was small...

 she has always been a dare devil....

 me not so much...

but I do enjoy watching...

and of course photographing....

Hatari spent the weekend with us...

My daughter went to Oklahoma City...

to a dance convention....Her girls got 2nd place...

we are so proud of them...and our daughter...

she is doing a great job with these kiddos...

 

 Sunday I got to sleep in...

that never happens...it was great...

Hubby and I went to brunch....

came home loaded up Rooster and Hatari...

went to the River bottoms for a nice hike...

The dogs had a blast...running playing...

we walked about 3 miles...the dogs no telling how

many miles they ran...

we all came home and took a nap....

I had a nice long chat with my Mom on the phone...

Hubby and I went to dinner...listened to the juke box...

it was a fun weekend...

now it's Monday...back to reality...

My Dad and step Mom are coming tomorrow

for a birthday visit...

I'm excited to see them...

haven't seen them since Christmas...

wasn't that just a few weeks ago...
