Texas

Texans are a proud bunch...
we have our Texas Flag flying proudly....

every where you look you see a Texas Flag...
yard art...house art...
T-shirts...purses....
you name it...
we put a Texas Flag on it...
or the shape of Texas...
Our State Capitol is Austin...

Austin is considered the live music capitol
of the world...
Texas is known as the Lone Star State...

Our state motto is Friendship...
State insect is the Monarch Butterfly..
State flower is the blue bonnet...
State plant is the prickly pear cactus...
State vegetable is the sweet onion...
State Tree is Pecan.....
State gem is Texas Blue Topaz...
Caddo Lake is the only natural lake in Texas...
So now you know a little more about Texas...

funny thing is I am from Georgia and been in Flordia for 28 years and have never seen the state flag for either. i just went and found both of the flags and they were all new to me. now i do know the rebel flag, there are many of those here and in certain counties in GA there is flag on evry porch. the confederate flag i mean. i wanted to put one on my truck but was afraid to.

I have lived in Texas and I didn't know all of those things. The Colorado flag is flown a lot around here and it shows up a lot on T shirts, etc., especially in tourist areas.

learned a few new things - like the state tree and state gem.

And the state bird is the mockingbird .... or mosquito, depending on the rain situation :-)

Love me the Lone Star Flag (right by or under Old Glory, of course)

Interesting points. I didn't know about the Monarch Butterfly, prickly pear cactus or sweet onion.
The information on Caddo Lake surprises me. Are you saying that other lakes are man made?
