there is nothing like a sunset at the beach....

except maybe the sunrise....

 

 we had a wonderful time on our trip...

Hubby wanted check out the city more....

maybe open another location there....

see if it is something that would work for us...

 

 

I had fun playing with the settings on my camera...

I usually stick with the regular programmed settings...

I'm starting to feel more comfortable...

trying out all the other settings...

trying manual focus...adjusting shudder speed...

maybe some day I will figure it all out...

 

 Hubby tried to fish out in the ocean....

the waves were thrashing him around....

he was making me nervous....

I kept a close eye on him...

 Hubby got me to go in...you see how deep I got....lol...

I never learned to swim...so I don't go out too far...

 

 

while eating lunch...we met a nice couple...

they live in the town...

they told us that the last hurricane took out a bunch of tree tops...

instead of cutting them all down...

woodcarvers came in....

this dog was carved from a tree....

the home owners dress him up depending on the season...

We are back home...

I miss the sand between my toes....

the wind in my hair...

well maybe not the wind...

 



 I did a little playing on PicMonkey....

so happy Sandra told me about it....

it makes editing a breeze...

we found out more details...

memorials will be held in Wyoming...

and in Oregon where she grew up...

The family is holding up as well as can be expected...

 

 On a happier note....

we will be heading to the coast soon....

a little work...a little relaxation...

 

 It's nice that my kiddos can hold down the fort for us...

the dogs...the business...

the house....

 

Our October calendar is filling up fast....

photo shoots...picnics...The State Fair of Texas...

cookouts...

I picked up my new glasses...

wow...what a new experience...

the world looks so different...

they are line less bifocals...

I'm having to change my whole way of doing things...

I used to have to hold all small print down to the left...

to read even with reading glasses...

now I can hold it right in front of me....

my eyes are tired...but that will pass...

 I am writing with a heavy heart today....

I just found out through a family page on Facebook...

my hubbies cousin...lost her daughter...

and two grand babies in a car accident...

in Wyoming last night....

 

 I felt like my heart was stabbed when I read it...

I can't imagine the pain they are going through...

Hubbies Aunt has lost too many family members

to car accidents...Her Mom...and two sisters...

one of them was Hubbies Mom...

now she has lost a grand daughter and two great grand children...

All I could think to do was hug my Hotrod...

Hug your family every day...

Tell them you love them every day...

Don't hold grudges...

always tell people the things you like or love about them...
Your prayers would be appreciated...
this will be a hard time for a lot of people...



 

Our fall temps turned back to summer....

in the 90's today...

but that's okay with me...

I get to hang on to summer a little longer...

and it's not in the 100's....

 My Mom is leaving to go to Missouri...

to see my Uncle Tom...

if you would send up a few prayers for her safe travel...

they would be greatly appreciated...

 

 

Hotrod was catching Doodle bugs...

he named one of them Pawpaw...

Pawpaw and Nanny are two of his favorite names to use...

 

can you tell I'm getting excited....

will have my toes in the sand before I know it...

hopefully the rain will stay away...

I love having them live close by....

we went to another park this morning...

( Roosters second favorite park)

first stop was the swings...

just a few months ago he didn't like swings...

even as a baby...he didn't like swings...

now he loves them...

 this is a straight from the camera shot...

no adjustments...just the color of the tunnel...

and the sun peaking through...

I thought it turned out cool...

 

it was another beautiful day today...

I had itchy feet all day...

just wanting to be outside...

I even took Ladybug for a nice ride...

(she's my bicycle my Dad gave me)

 

a police officer was patrolling the park...

Hotrod hollered Hi...to him and waved...

he stopped...got out of his car...

came over to visit with us...

even played catch with Hotrod a few times...

it's nice to see an officer take the time....

 

then we were off again...

Hotrod leading the way...

we had a nice walk....good for us all...

now its time to wind down...

get ready for a new week....

 



I got a text this morning from my DIL...

asking if I wanted to meet her and Hotrod...

at the park...

well you know I did...

and you know I grabbed my camera...

 there is something so freeing about swinging.....

 

 makes you want to smile...

the weather was perfect...

a nice cool breeze....

 

 I'm so blessed to be able to catch this fun with my camera...

 

 to be able to re-live it any time I want...

 

 after the park I treated myself to a mini spa day...

a hair cut and style...

eyebrow and lip wax...

then a pedicure...

oh was it a nice pedicure...

so relaxing...

 Hubby cooked fajitas on the grill...

I'm still loving Paelo...

so many things I can eat...

 

My Mom leaves next week ...

to go stay a few days with my Uncle Tom...

he is recovering nicely....

it will be nice for her to see first hand how he's doing it...



Venus....

we got rain...lots and lots of rain....

all over Texas...

you could almost here the ground....

slurping it in as fast as it could...



We are in the 70's....

a great big change....

Hotrod was excited to splash in the puddles...

he wanted to dig for worms....

he didn't understand that the dirt is still too dry for worms...

 



 

a few weeks ago when he spent the night...

Pawpaw showed him Venus in the sky...

then we looked it up on the net...

so he could see a close up shot...

he has been really curious about planets now...

Today he wanted me to tell him a story about Venus...

So I asked him...How do you think we could travel there...

he said a Rocket ship Oma....

A purple rocket ship with red and orange flames on the side...

we had fun taking our trip to Venus...

did you know....they have fountains with purple water???

and if you jump into it you turn purple too???

 



or that you can have a picnic...

and eat purple crackers???

or that they have mini rockets...

that you drive to go to the grocery store...

well you can on our Venus....

I love the way that boy thinks....

we can have adventures...and never leave the house...

It is raining....It is raining....

I had to say it twice to believe it myself...

we sure do need it...our lakes are so low..

our grounds are so dry....

 



I went for an eye exam today...

it has been way too many years since I had one...

I've been using reading glasses as regular glasses...

and grabbing another pair to read with...

now I will have one pair...

will be able to read..and see off far...

my far vision is not bad....

but my close up...

let's just say it's not good...

she did say my eyes looked healthy....

I just booked our hotel...

for a weekend get away to the beach....

business will be involved...

I can handle that...



Hump day...Yeah...

had a fun day with Hotrod...

we went for an "Adventure Walk"

we picked up leaves...feathers...sticks..

we used them to paint with...

 



Hotrod wanted to look at photos today...

so we pulled out the photo albums...

he likes looking as his baby photos...

you know I have a ton of them...

some times I think it would be fun to live on a farm...

I know it is hard work...

but it sure would be nice to get away from the hustle and bustle...

just be one with nature...

these two girls got to spend 2 weeks in New York...

dancing with The Broadway Experience...

so proud of them...

I've got another photo shoot this Saturday...

with the dance girls....

I'm excited....we've got some cool ideas...

 



I got great news today...

My Uncle got to go home from the hospital...

the Dr. was so surprised how well he was doing....

You can't keep a good man down...

My Dad's tests went well...

Hotrod had a good day at school...

he's even taking a nap there...

I never thought that would happen...

but they do play hard while they are there...

The seasons are a changing...

it is dark longer in the morning...

and get's dark earlier in the evenings...

I'm not liking this at all...

I like long days...short nights...
