Friday Night...
instead of sitting on the couch...
trying to find something to watch on the boob tube...
I told Hubby...
let's go down to the opening of the Heritage Festival...
this year...they have an actual Midway...
when the sun started moving down...
the wind was blowing lightly...
it was a comfortable evening...
On the main stage was a jazz band...
they were good...
The sax player was awesome...
my Hubby...who is not a big Jazz fan...
really enjoyed the sax player...
there is something kinda magical about a sax...
soulful...
the singer was very good...
he had a great voice...
while the music was playing...
the mid way was in full swing...
bright light...the smell of corny dogs...popcorn...
they also had a battle of the bands...
a contest for high school bands...
this girl could sing....
it was such a nice evening...
what would a fun Texas evening be...
with out our beautiful flag blowing in the breeze...
the sky was beautiful...
such a nice change...from sitting on the couch...
Hubby flipping channels...
Hubby fussing at the politics...
there was a dance contest...
a local radio station was giving away tickets...
these young men were having a blast...
let me tell you...they had some moves...
Today is a full day of the festival...
my daughters dance girls will be performing...
so you know there will be more photos to come...

the boys were so cute! sounds like a nice time!
i have not been on a midway in a long time.. love the first one and the ferris wheel... i do love a soulful sad wailing sax... but not Jazz, just the ones that the sax is mellow and crying...
forgot to say, I wonder what state other than Texas fly's their state flag. i know Texas does, but i don't even know what the FL or GA flags look like... the only one i see in the south is the Rebel flag... i might have to research this.
Now that looks and sounds like a perfect evening!!!
I love listening to a good jazz band, and the sax is my fav. Looks like lots of fun at the festival.
I have never seen a ferris wheel like that one!
