That's a lot of rain! Our rains are more or less finished for the season. We get the odd shower now but the heavy rains have gone. We live(Johannesburg) on the Highveld (we are very high above sea level) where our winters are cold and dry - actually extremely dry (our skins dry up like crocodile/aligator skin!) have to put tons of moisturiser on!!! In the Cape (south of South Africa - Cape Town etc.) the climate is different - hot dry summers and cold rainy winters (perfect for grapes and wine growers!)
Hi Deb, Those kinds of storms are so destructive. Sometimes the plants in my garden never recover from heavy downpours and winds like that. I hate having to run around and take down all my hanging plants too. I've had some blown right off their hooks. I like a nice gently rain that lasts a day and then disappears. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Loretta
I'm wondering what part of Texas you're in. We got a similar rain storm yesterday, too. Ours wasn't as big or as much of a downpour, though. We could really sure the rain, too. It's been so dry and dusty here. Our last moisture was back in January.
I meant to tell you that I'm a natural born Texan, too. I was born in Corpus Christi, but I wasn't given the pleasure of growing up in Texas because we were a military family and moved quite a bit.

Girl we got those rainstorms today. I thought we were going to float leaving Wal-mart this a.m.
We got a lot of rain too and it was so needed. Love your pics and especially the Ricky Nelson song. Wow does it bring back memories.
