Down a country road

lots of red dirt in East Texas

My husband accidentally shot his brother in the hand

with a BB gun when they were 6 and 7 in this creek...

he ended up having to have it surgically removed 20 years later

These photos were taken on a country road

in Jacksonville Texas......

Hi Deb,
Don't you just love a winding country road that looks like it leads to nowhere, but in fact you know there's a story at the end of that road. Old barns and farmhouses, farm equipment, creeks and ponds, and outbuildings. Each one has a story to tell like the barn in your header. That is some red dirt. Is it clay? We have red clay and gray clay neither of which is good for growing anything. Thank you for sharing your pictures. Hugs, Loretta

It is red dirt every where...

So familiar, Deb. Both of my parents are buried in Jarret Cemetery in Jacksonville (Turney). Reminds me of the roads around there. Thanks for the memory. xoxo Nancy

I really love little road trips like this. So pretty!
I don't know very much about Texas. I have seen some pictures of the Fredericksburg area (I think). Anyway, is it very close to you and is it as pretty as I remember the pictures?
